Sticker Collage Art
A pile of assorted stickers becomes a full scene once children peel, place and build with them.

Sticker collage needs almost no setup: a sheet of paper, a pile of stickers, and children build their own scene from scratch. Peeling and placing stickers accurately is trickier than it looks for small fingers, and the open-ended format means a toddler can dot stickers randomly while an older child plans a whole story on the page.
What you need
- Sticker sheets, assorted themes
- Large sheet of paper or card
- Crayons or markers to add background details
- Scissors (adult use, optional for trimming)
Step by step
- 1
Lay out a large sheet of paper as the base scene.

Sort the stickers into loose groups, such as animals, vehicles or shapes.

Let your child peel a sticker and decide where it goes before pressing it down.

Encourage them to add drawn details around the stickers, like grass, water or a sky.

Keep going until the page feels finished to them, not to you.
- 6
Talk through the finished scene together, asking what is happening in it.

Building a scene from separate pieces gives children a chance to practise narrating what is happening in their picture.

Make it easier
Use large, easy-peel stickers and offer only one theme so the choices are simpler.
Make it more challenging
Set a theme like 'under the sea' or 'a busy street' and ask them to plan the whole scene before starting.
Safety and supervision
- Small stickers are a choking hazard for children who still mouth objects.
- Keep sticker backing paper away from very young children, as it can be a similar hazard.
